Threader is run by a team of two French software developers. We build products, we are nomad and we love cheese, wine, and dogs.
We started Threader because we truly love threads. They bring a lot of value so we wanted to build something that cuts out the noise and brings you the best from Twitter.
Before this format was widely used as it is today, we noticed that Twitter users were taking advantage of tweetstorms as a new way to express longer thoughts and hack the 280 characters limit. Threads became more and more popular. But they were hard to read on Twitter at the time and were getting buried as soon as they got posted. It was like to look for a needle in a haystack.
The idea of Threader came from this assessment and the desire to highlight these great stories and knowledge shared on Twitter. We built an iOS app to aggregate and recommend interesting threads and a website later on. Threader got featured App of the Day by Apple and gets 1M+ page views every month today.
